Amanda Kraus

Biography

Professor Kraus has been teaching college-level courses since the year 2000 in Video Editing, Sound, and all things Post-Production.  She has developed curricula at both Columbia College Hollywood and George Mason University. Professor Kraus has been teaching with Mason since 2006. At GMU, Professor Kraus expanded and honed our FAVS courses in editing to include both Comm 360 (now FAVS 260) and FAVS 460:  Advanced Video Editing.  She also has developed our Sound Department at Mason.

In addition, her significant professional experience in the Entertainment Industry dates back to 1996 and includes multiple sound and picture studios, recording studios, set gigs, and, most recently, 10 years serving as a Senior Editor, Producer, and Director at GMU-TV.

In addition, she has built and designed instructional Foley facilities (Post-Production/Sound Recording) and professionally served as an Assistant Engineer and as a Post Production Producer while working on Emmy/Golden Globe award-winning TV Shows! 

Professor Kraus has earned numerous awards in television, including 7 Telly Awards and a Gracie. She also received Teacher of the Year from Columbia College Hollywood and was recently nominated for an Excellence In Teaching Award at Mason!
