Professor Giovanna Chesler (they/them) directs documentary and narrative films that address sexuality, the body, and gender and racial justice.
Adjunct Faculty, Film and Video Studies, CVPAScott Cooper is a freelance motion designer and FAVS alum. His thesis film, “Café Kreyol”, made its rounds at a number of local festivals and was recognized as the “Best of Fest” in the Short Film category at the Richmond International Film Festival. After graduating from GMU in 2015 with a minor in graphic design, Scott worked as a motion designer and video generalist with clients in the automotive, cybersecurity, and advocacy spaces.

Director, Visiting Filmmakers SeriesCynthia Fuchs (PhD, University of Pennsylvania, 1989) is the interim Director of Film at Mason (CVPA) and Associate Professor of English (CHSS), as well as a faculty member in African and African American Studies (AAAS) and Sport and American Culture; she is an Executive Committee member for Women and Gender Studies (WGST).
